Assignament 6: Reflecting on Copyright
I find that Article 70 of the law on copyright is well conceived but what I can not understand is, if the same article says:
"The abridgment, quotation or playback of songs or parts of works and their communication the public are free if made for purpose of criticism or discussion, within the limits justified for such purposes and provided that there is competition for use of the work, if carried out for teaching or scientific research use must also be made in purposes of illustration and for non-commercial "Why
a professor refuses to make available to students with slides and clips that he uses to explain a lesson?
After all, do not infringe any law, it would be done electronically only for the education illustrative purposes only and should (to use the same words from the article above) and indeed, I am FIRMLY BELIEVE CONVINCED that the dissemination of educational materials that can not provide competition to the economic use of the work.
fact, if you think about it and uses it to project the professor is just a summary of the work in question and the student CAN ' comfortable doing in order to reorganize the notes later in preparing the study, but at the same time CAN NOT ' be sufficient for the exam as doubts and gaps can be filled only comprehensive analysis of the work.
So, there is always a tendency for the student to the acquisition of the work and this shows that the copyright is guaranteed and, above all, economic gain because basically everything comes from the fact that the money that must be protected! ... and the honor and prestige of being an excellent source of learning.
